More than a choir - a choral education program
Founded in 2019, Young Voices of Hobart is a fun, inclusive choral program for young singers in the greater Hobart area. Led by a qualified and experienced music educator, YVH is committed to providing an exceptional level of choral education, with a strong focus on providing high level performance outcomes.

REHEARSALS
We rehearse on Monday afternoons during the school terms.

ENSEMBLES
We currently run a Performance Choir and a Senor Vocal Ensemble.
Performance Choir
This choir is our main ensemble and caters for all singers aged 6 - 18. This group is non-auditioned and represents YVH at most events including Citizenship Ceremonies, Festival of Voices, Local and Interstate Tours, Christmas gigs and more. The Performance Choir rehearses for an hour a week, singing a range of choral repertoire and provides an excellent training ground for all members.
Senior Vocal Ensemble
Senior Vocal Ensemble is made up of singers from Performance Choir who consistently demonstrate a high standard of performance skills, confidently sing a harmony part, follow the conductor and musical instruction and maintain focus during rehearsals. Participation in this smaller ensemble is by invitation extended to singers of any age who meet the above criteria. Senior Vocal Ensemble members are also expected to demonstrate leadership during Performance Choir rehearsals. This ensemble provides the more experienced singers with the opportunity to engage with more advanced repertoire and perform at high profile events.

FEES
- Fees are $125 per term for Performance Choir members, and $140 per term for singers who are also members of the Senior Vocal Ensemble
- We offer a 10% discount to families with more than one singer enrolled.
- There are additional costs for concert attendance, registration for special events, and tours.
- All singers will need to make a one-off payment of $30 to cover the cost of their YVH music bag and performance t-shirt.
FEE ASSISTANCE
At YVH we believe that music education is for everyone, and that financial hardship should not be a barrier to access. We have a limited number of scholarships and bursaries available for families needing financial assistance. If you would like to discuss fee assistance, or arrange a payment plan, then please contact our Musical Director or a member of the Board for a confidential discussion.
