More than a choir - a choral education program
Founded in 2019, Young Voices of Hobart is a fun, inclusive choral program for young singers in the greater Hobart area. Led by a qualified and experienced music educator, YVH is committed to providing an exceptional level of choral education, with a strong focus on providing high level performance outcomes.

REHEARSALS
We rehearse on Monday afternoons during the school terms.
- 3:45pm - 4:45pm | Training Choir
- 4:15pm - 5:45pm | Performance Choir
ENSEMBLES
We currently run both a Training Choir and a Performance Choir. Allocation to one of these groups is dependant on both age and skill.
Generally singers from Grade 5 - 12 will be in the Senior Performance Choir, however exceptions are made for younger singers who consistently demonstrate the following attributes:

- focus on the conductor
- engagement with the song/text
- ability to follow musical directions
- vocal proficiency, i.e., tuning, diction, tone
FEES
- Fees are $120 per term. We offer a 10% discount to families with more than one singer enrolled.
- There are additional costs for concert attendance, registration for special events, and tours.
- All singers will need to make a one-off payment of $25 to cover the cost of their performance t-shirt.
FEE ASSISTANCE
At YVH we believe that music education is for everyone, and that financial hardship should not be a barrier to access. We have a limited number of scholarships and bursaries available for families needing financial assistance. If you would like to discuss fee assistance, or arrange a payment plan, then please contact our Musical Director or a member of the Board for a confidential discussion.

At Young Voices of Hobart we believe in supporting composers and music creators. YVH is proudly licensed through OneMusic Australia to rehearse and perform music protected by copyright.
